«Culture VS War»: Screening of the “People of Steel” film and meeting with Serhii Fomenko

On December 17, 2024, a special screening of the documentary historical film “People of Steel” and a meeting with the famous singer and musician Serhii Fomenko will take place at the UFU as part of his tour and the “Culture VS War” project.

The program includes screenings of the “People of Steel” film, presentations of the “Culture vs War” project, discussions and acoustic performances.

Serhii Fomenko is a Ukrainian singer, composer, songwriter, documentary film director, frontman of the Mandry band, People’s Artist of Ukraine.
In the “People of Steel” documentary, the defenders of Mariupol and their relatives tell the true story of the events that took place from February to May 2022, during the battle for Mariupol, in a city surrounded by russian troops. It also features the story of the subsequent struggle of the families of the defenders of Mariupol and Azovstal for the release of their relatives and loved ones from captivity. The war for freedom, independence and life of Ukrainians continues even today. Ukrainian soldiers, People of Steel, stand in defense of Ukraine, European and world security.
The co-organizer of the tour events is the Watch Ukrainian! Association with the support of MHP-Hromada Foundation, Winner Company, International Renaissance Foundation.
